Leuchtenstein

The castle was founded at the end of the 13th century and apparently ceased to exist during the Hussite Wars in the second half of the 15th century.

The castle was situated above Zlaté Hory, on the slope of the prominent Biskupská kupa; from a strategic point of view, it was in an unfavourable position, there was a good view to the north towards the Silesian lowlands.

The castle belongs to the so-called bergfrit (tower) fortifications. The tower itself was surrounded by its own oval wall, and the courtyard was surrounded by a perimeter wall. A brick building adjoined it to the south. The second building, situated to the west, reinforced the face of the wall on the access road. Almost the entire area was surrounded by a rampart and an advanced ditch
